Benefits of Visualization

Many people aren’t aware of how powerful visualization can be in accomplishing our goals. Doing this daily will reduce negative self-talk, strengthen your mental energy, and override limiting beliefs. Visualization is a skill that requires discipline, and when applied, the opportunities are endless.

Reduce negative self-talk

Our brains are hardwired to hold on to negative experiences longer than positive ones. Psychologists refer to this as a negative bias. Giving more attention to adverse events will have an unfortunate effect on our relationships and decision making. As an entrepreneur, this can be detrimental to your business. Use visualization to reduce the frequency of negative self-talk.

Strengthen your mental energy

The Reticular Activating System (RAS) regulates what we perceive as our consciousness. RAS determines what’s relevant by filtering out unnecessary information. This part of our brain is the reason we can hold a conversation in a loud room. Training your RAS to channel perinate information will lead you to reach your goals faster and more efficiently. This is achieved through intention setting, which is another form of visualization. Doing this exercise daily, you’ll begin to formulate new ideas or find new people to support you along this journey.

Override limiting beliefs

Studies suggest that practicing visualization while your brain wavelengths move from Beta (12 to 30 Hz) to Alpha (8 to 12 Hz), you’ll begin to override limiting beliefs if exercised daily. You can change your internal thought process by using your imagination while in an Alpha state of mind. This is a form of self-hypnosis and can be achieved through meditation.

Visualization is a powerful skill and a reliable tool as an entrepreneur. Just like any new skill, it takes practice, training, and discipline. Allow yourself the space to ask the right questions while clarifying where you are now and the direction you’d like to head.
