Pushing through doubt
"This journey has been such a continuous learning process and a challenge," Cynthia quickly responded as we traded stories about our entrepreneurial journey. "Especially during the times of self-doubt and feeling discouraged, but I've always believed there was more and that I deserve to live the life I've dreamed of."
Multi passionate entrepreneurs are not uncommon. But as someone who found her passion later in life, I've always wondered how some have so many! When you look close enough, entrepreneurs like Cynthia have a genuine desire to serve others -- which can transcend into different industries.
Cynthia Ganancail is the founder of Str8 Up Bar, a mobile bartending service while she pursues her financial services calling as a PHP Agent.
"I was introduced to the Events Industry where I fell in love with it, and that's when Str8 Up Bar was created, but then something else happened," she said.
In this interview with Cynthia, we talk about mindset and growth as a multi-passionate entrepreneur.
Michelle: Share a time when you doubted yourself as an entrepreneur. How have you moved past it?
Cynthia: I've had many moments of self-doubt and I still have them to this day. One I can particularly remember is when I first started with PHP. I was super excited and trying to knock out my training, then I got a direct message saying "I think you should change careers. This doesn't seem like a good fit for you". That hit me hard. I felt like giving up. Like I wasn't good enough. But that voice in my heart told me to keep going, so I stopped, said a prayer, and moved on trying my best not to show my emotional pain.
Michelle: When did you start your entrepreneurial journey? How has it evolved since then?
Cynthia: It all started about 5 years ago when working in the bar environment. Finding that the bar scene wasn't for me, I was introduced to the Events Industry, that's when Str8 Up Bar was created. It soon grew into one of the most popular vendors through referrals. My journey then took a turn towards a new path, and that's how I got into the financial field.
Michelle: Share about your multi-passionate, entrepreneurial journey, and how they all tie together.
Cynthia: My passion is to bring entertainment and support to others. Mobile bartending has been a fun hobby that turned into a business. At the same time, my agent license with PHP became a focus on helping people with financial services.
Michelle: How have you pivoted your business to bring joy to your community?
Cynthia: I bring joy to my community through education, entertainment, and inspiration.
I educate my clients with customized options to fit their needs/wants.
I entertain freely with fun, laughter, and creating friendships.
I inspire by offering support when needed.
Michelle: Where do you plan on taking your business in the next 5 years?
Cynthia: In 5 years, I plan to be within the Top 3 Most Requested bartending vendors, and to be a Marketing Director with my own agency office space to perform my financial services.
