Lotus Wrapping Co. was founded in 2020 with one mission: to produce an elegant gift wrap solution that is easy, beautiful, AND better for our environment. Why? Because Americans throw away 25% more trash than usual during the holiday season alone. That's about 1 million extra tons per week. A common misconception many people make is that their wrapping paper is recyclable. If the wrapping paper has glitter on it, is metallic, or has texture on it, it is not recyclable. That accounts for majority of the gift wrapping paper market (that's currently valued at nearly 20 billion USD). Lastly, including paper gift wrap in your recycling bin with other paper products, can make the entire load unrecyclable.
Our solution? Lotus Gift Wraps. A reusable, sustainable, fabric gift wrap that still maintains its' elegance. We wanted to share a gift that keeps on giving all the way from Honolulu, Hawaii. Our mission is to revitalize the gift wrapping experience. If every family wrapped just 3 presents in re-used materials, it would eliminate enough waste to cover 45,000 football fields!
Currently the gift wrapping experience begins with the purchase of a roll of gift wrapping paper, tape, and plastic ribbons. Followed by the process of being ripped, cut open, and thrown away immediately. At Lotus Wrapping Co., we want to change that. We believe we have a social responsibility to do better and we are more than capable of making this change.
